Mystical Visions Concert

St. Catherine of Alexandria Episcopal Church

Sunday February 23^rd   -  4:00 p.m.

Mystical Visions – a musical benefit concert by Mother Susan+ ( Rector of St. Catherine’s )  and Deacon Alisa Carmichael ( Organist ) , will be given Sunday afternoon, February 23rd, 4 p.m. at St. Catherine of Alexandria Episcopal Church, 502 Druid Hills Road, Temple Terrace, Florida.

This themed concert will include vocal and organ music related to Mary, Theotokos ( Mother of God ) and several women saints. Composers range from Henry Purcell to Franz Schubert to Samuel Barber  to James Johnston, Jr. (friend of Mother Susan+)

This concert will benefit our J2A youth group who are raising money for their summer 2014 pilgrimage to Borderlands Retreat Center in South Dakota.

$15 adults, $10 students, $5 children and youth

Lincoln-Douglass Ball Set for February 8

St. James House of Prayer is once again getting ready to host their annual Lincoln-Douglass Ball!

The Lincoln-Douglass Ball originated in Tampa's black community during Jim Crow segregation and celebrated the relationship between President Abraham Lincoln and Abolitionist Frederick Douglass. Now held in February each year, St. James House of Prayer continues the tradition in its annual ball that has become a symbol of racial unity, interfaith community, and intercultural acceptance. 100 % of the proceeds from the Lincoln-Douglass Ball goes to support Cornerstone Kids, Inc.

This year's Lincoln-Douglass Ball will be held on Saturday, February 8, at 6:00 PM at the Embassy Suites-USF Grand Ball Room.
